TEEN MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID
Teen Mental Health First Aid (tMHFA) teaches teens in grades 10-12, or ages 15-18, how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges in their friends and peers. After this course, teens will be able to recognize early warning signs that a friend is developing a mental health or substance use challenge, recognize warning signs that a friend may be experiencing a mental health or substance use crisis, describe how to talk to a friend about mental health and seeking help, explain when and how to get a responsible adult involved, discuss where to find appropriate and helpful resources about mental health challenges and professional help, apply the tMHFA Action Plan to help a friend with a mental health or substance use challenge or crisis.
YOUTH MENTAL FIRST AID
Youth Mental Health First Aid is designed to teach parents, family members, caregivers, teachers, school staff, neighbors, health and human services workers, and other caring citizens how to help an adolescent (age 12-18) who is experiencing a mental health or addictions challenge or is in crisis. Youth Mental Health First Aid is primarily designed for adults who regularly interact with young people. The course introduces common mental health challenges for youth, reviews typical adolescent development, and teaches a 5-step action plan for how to help young people in both crisis and non-crisis situations. Topics covered include anxiety, depression, substance use, disorders in which psychosis may occur, disruptive behavior disorders (including AD/HD), and eating disorders.
COUNSELING ON ACCESS TO LETHAL MEANS
Counseling on Access to Lethal Means (CALM) is a powerful addition to existing strategies to reduce the risk of suicide death in at-risk people while respecting their rights and autonomy.
Help keep your at-risk clients safe by learning how to collaborate with them to implement safe storage of firearms and dangerous medications. Training is available for individual providers as well as organizations, with in-person and virtual options available.

SOUL SHOP FOR BLACK CHURCHES
Soul Shop™ for Black Churches is a one-day workshop designed for clergy, staff, lay pastors, and faith-based clinicians in the Black Church. This training was developed and is delivered by black and African-American faith leaders who are suicide experts, and it addresses the complex issues specific to black communities that are causing suicide rates to rise. Given the prominence of the church within the black community, Soul Shop believes that churches should be at the front line of this public health crisis, and it equips these leaders to do just that.
THE COMMUNITY RESILIENCY MODEL
The Trauma Resource Institute (TRI) is a nonprofit organization devoted to cultivating trauma-informed and resiliency-focused individuals and communities throughout the world. TRI is known internationally for its innovative perspectives promoting individual and community well-being. Two types of training have been developed, the Trauma Resiliency Model (TRM)® and the Community Resiliency Model (CRM)®. Both models are biologically based and teach wellness skills, cultivating well-being in mind, body, and spirit. While TRM is oriented toward mental health professionals, CRM takes on a public health focus and has been taught to professionals and natural leaders of communities.
